FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS YOUR BACKORDER TIME?

World leaders have collectively lost their minds as a result our sales are at an unprecedented level and we are concurrently challenged by supply chain issues.  We try and catch up but then some yahoo does something stupid and we get a boat load of orders.  If a product is offered on our online store we believe in good faith that we can ship that product.  The delay however varies from week to week depending on the insanity of the world.  We try and ship all orders from a week the following Monday.

HOW DO I TRACK MY ORDER?

We will email you a confirmation when you place the order.  You will receive another email when it ships, hopefully the following Tuesday.  This email will have the UPS tracking number.  You can always email or call us to get an update on the estimated ship time.

DO YOU SHIP TO CANADA, ALASKA AND HAWAII?

Yes! We ship to Canada and Alaska all the time (no Hawaii yet).  It unfortunately is a bit more expensive.  The extra charges for these destinations are visible on the cart page before you finalize the purchase.  For our Canadian friends, the package will often arrive COD for the extra charges imposed by customs and duty.  We have no control over this.

HOW DO YOU SHIP??

UPS ships to every address so we use UPS.  Some other pump manufacturers use10ft pallets that must ship via motor freight.  Trucks often can not deliver to many residential addresses so that is a no go in our book.  The heavy duty box we use is oversized and is 61 inches long, 14" wide and 4" high for pumps less than 53 ft long.  Longer pumps use two boxes taped together.  Any box over 48 inches long is UPS "oversize", shipping charges are visible on the view cart page.

CAN THE PUMP BE USED TO PRESSURIZE THE PLUMBING SYSTEM IN A HOUSE?

No, We have elected not to include this expensive design in our pumps.  This feature looks cool in the literature of our competition, but we did the math;  it takes a lot of effort to lift water out of your well, Then to pressurize a typical house it takes the equivalent effort of lifting another 100+ feet.  This will not work for a lot of people.  Also keep in mind that any exposed line that connects your pump to the house will freeze in the wintertime if it is not disconnected after each use

DO YOU SHIP TO OTHER COUNTRIES BESIDES CANADA?

The online store is not set up for this but you can email us for a shipping quote.  It is usually very expensive but it can be done.

WHAT'S YOUR WARRANTY?

Satisfaction is absolutely guaranteed and our products are guaranteed for the life of your well if there is no obvious abuse.  We basically have zero returns for defects but occassionally there are compatability issues with the well, shipping damage and  the occasional non prepping spouse.  No problem, just send us an email and we will email you a prepaid return UPS shipping label.  When we get the pump we will refund your money.

DO YOU TEST YOUR PUMPS?

Every pump is tested prior to shipping.  Our AR and SJ pumps are tested under simulated head pressure of 100ft and 200ft repectively on our cool test fixture that has an adjustable pressure relief valve.  A big honkin pneumatic cylinder creates a 10" stroke and the test water is 45F (coldest well water temperature).  We count how many strokes it takes to produce a gallon of water.  AK pumps are also tested but not on this test fixture.  If a pump does not pass it does not ship. Pumps are then power dried and readied for shipping.

WHY DO YOU HAVE SUCH A COOL COMPANY NAME?

Apocalypse Well Pumps does indeed have the coolest name in the industry and it simply reflects how cool our customers are

HOW DO I SANITIZE MY WELL?

Many people do not sanitize their well well after installing our pumps and only a few sanitize their well on a regular basis.  Also known as "Shocking" or "Shock Clorination", this is primarily a decision based on the quality of water found in your area.  The best YouTube video on this is this link Shock Clorination of a Private Well
